— Meet the Top 40 Dogs of Edmonton, Class of 2021
Pomeranian / Somehow this tiny bear cub with perfect fuzzy ears snuck into this year's competition and we’re totally fine with it.
Boston Terrier × Pug × Australian Shepherd / A Boston that’s built like a pug, looks like a Frenchie, and has the merle coat of an Aussie, this cuddle bug is all that and then some.
Rottweiler Cross / A cool scar across your face is usually the sign of a tough guy – Buster busts the trend and is as gentle and sweet as a dog can be.
Newfoundland / 140 pounds of pure handsome, this dog is the biggest in the class. According to our cleanup... he's also the drooliest.
Chihuaha / Only able to chew on the left side of his mouth, his tongue hangs out at all times giving ‘Grizz’ a smile all his own. The judges instantly fell in love.
Doberman Pinscher / Despite his big bark, this pup acts like an 85 lbs lap dog obsessed with his blankie. As it turns out, he also wasn’t a huge fan of our photoshoot…
Golden Retriever / The golden boy of the Class of 2021 served the judges some retriever realness. There’s something about that smile they couldn’t resist. But really, who could?!
Australian Labradoodle / Looking like a perfect piece of fried chicken, this delicious snack stole the judges’ hearts as quickly as he steals other dogs' food.
Shiba Inu / Featured on Jimmy Fallon, and a japanese magazine dedicated to Shibas, you know you’re in the presence of greatness with this star around.
Boxer / Three cheers for the President of Mill Creek Off-Leash Dog Park! Tuna has some solid policy ideas which mostly revolve around getting peanut butter and snuggles.
Whippet / With big ears and a personality to match, this friendly weirdo wants to befriend everybody. Otherwise, he’s most likely wrapped up in his blanket sleeping the day away.
Chihuahua Super Mix / The button says it all. With more outfits than you can shake a stick at, this top dog was striking poses that would make GQ jealous.
Border Terrier / Any confidence this handsome pup lacks trying to jump onto the couch didn’t come through in his photoshoot. He was all business and blacktie formal.
Dalmatian / This pup was spot on with every pose, look, and cheat she threw at us. With fashion to match, this dog, dog model is no goose! She knows just how beautiful she is.
Bully Breed Mystery Mix / A rescue from The Golden State, this pup was born to strut the dogwalk. Mel mixes fashion with function and looks good doing it.
Standard Poodle / Here’s a dog who loves his beauty-sleep and knows his angles. There’s absolutely nothing standard about this perfect poodle.
Labrador Retriever / One half of a dapper duo, this velvety soft chocolate lab is not only a part-time model, but also a chauffeur’s assistant and canine interpreter.
Bearded Collie / A glamorous former show dog who left the game behind to live the simple life, she’s happiest with a ponytail on her head and the wind in her fur.
Old English Sheepdog / This clumsy fluff ball was looking for mischief as soon as he hit the studio. We got him to calm down long enough to catch his gentle side.
Pembroke Welsh Corgi / Our Heroes, the judges, were Under Pressure to select this pup and they didn’t cha-cha-change their minds despite him being a Rebel Rebel.
Basenji / Like her namesake, she knows who’s in charge, but is happy to show off that cinnamon bun tail to all her loyal subjects.
Longhair Dachshund / A pandemic puppy with a love for brunch, stolen martinis, and shredding toilet paper. An immediate weiner with our judges.
Toy Poodle / With layers of cuteness and a heart melting personality, this 2.6 pound little snack had us smacking our lips from the moment we laid eyes on him.
Great Bernese × Pyrenees / A mix between two huge breeds, she’s only getting bigger. Her parents will need more than a two-person tent on their next adventure.
English Bulldog / A recent Kindergarten graduate, this lumbering, waddling boy was voted “Most likely to casually fart in class.” Good thing his puppy f ace is so cute.
Mini English Teddybear Goldendoodle / If you go down in the woods today you’d probably find this adorbs little teddy bear having a picnic.
Shetland Sheepdog / Looking like a big scoop of Cookies & Cream, this floof seems in nocent enough. That is, until he marks his territory at the most inappropriate times.
German Shepherd cross / Official ‘greeter’ at doggie daycare, this pickle is certainly of the sweet variety. A big dog with big fears, including staircases, leaves, and squirrels.
Chesapeake Bay × Lab / A blind dog who doesn’t know it, he has a heart of gold plain for anyone to see.
Golden Lab × Husky / These heterochromia eyes always keep the River Valley (and its squirrels) in sight. He’s gone from a flea-covered stray to a bowl-licking champ.
Border Collie × Lab / Named after the caped crusader, he has a passion for keeping his community safe… from squirrels. He truly is the hero we deserve.
Imperial Shih-Tzu / No syrup needed to make this waffle sweet. A submissive little lady with an adorable look all her own.
Spaniel Cross / After going missing for 7 weeks, and being hit by a car, this little fighter went from broken bones to fully recovered. He’s a small reminder to count your blessings.
Bloodhound Mystery Mix / This pup is an absolute home run. Full of entertaining energy, he’ll chase down any ball and loves a good walk around the bases.
German Shepard & Cavalier King Charles Spaniel / These two have an inseparable bond. Lacey is completely deaf, but luckily, she found her very own therapy dog in Angel. Now, they don’t leave each other's sides and are helping each other work through their past traumas.
Beagle × Lab / Born in Ontario, this pup traveled to the Wild West to find his forever family. Now he only has one goal: be friends with absolutely ever yone he meets.
German Shepherd / Using unmatched speed and precision this pup can be seen zooming around guiding his visually impared human with great pride.
Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever / Not only can this dog track birds on the hunt, he also donates blood, and saved his big sister’s life by detecting her cancer.
Yellow Labrador / A breeding dog for Dogs With Wings, this dog mumma just had a litter of seven future Assistant Dogs, who will bring lots of help to those in need.
Labrador Retriever / This little guy is working his tail off to be an Assistance Dog. Poor guy's still learning to deal with the fact he can’t always get pats.
